The mission of this series is to explore local dive bars and remind us all that alternatives to the predictably depressing bars on the Arcata Plaza do exist. Let’s be honest: as a newcomer, the first visit to the bars on the plaza takes some bravery. With this confidence well established we set out with an extra inkling of adventure. We wonder: What more will be required of us to experience the obscure, off-the-main-road alternatives?
